Daggett Pioneer Cemetery -- Polaroid emulsion, animal bone, dried flowers, glitter, fabric, acrylic paint

I wrote this for a teen horror fiction workshop I’m directing tonight (at the behest of the good people at The Writer’s Block). It’s a micro fiction horror story! Hooray!

A round trip ticket is the kind of thing one buys when anticipating future and freedom; a luxury afforded a person spared the acrid breath of a soul-devouring demon in hot pursuit.

Shaking, I hand over the sweat-drenched bundle and force the words: “One way to Borneo tonight, whatever the cost.”
